My name is Leigh Carmichael and I am qualified Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in North Yorkshire with the UK Society of Celebrants. I look forward to meeting and beginning a journey with you to ensure that the ceremony encapsulates the essence of what you wish to create. My partner and I live in idyllic North Yorkshire, running self-catering cottages in the Dales. With Olive our cat, we are living the good life. We have hosted micro weddings within the courtyard of our self-catering cottages and have met a number of celebrants who conducted the ceremonies. A light bulb moment for me, I thought I could do this, my skill set entirely and love of public speaking. Attending celebrant led funerals confirmed that this career move was for me.

Prior to becoming a professional celebrant, I enjoyed 25 years in Primary Education as a Class Teacher before serving as a Headteacher. Used to public speaking, meeting deadlines and creating trust with the school community provides a seamless transition into becoming a celebrant.

I am a people person with emotional intelligence in abundance. My warmth and assurance will put you at ease and with this trust I can create the ceremony befitting the occasion.

I am a family and funeral celebrant with positive energy and a need to serve the needs of my clients. Listening to you is key, capturing your thoughts and the vibe that you hope will be evident on the day.

Sensitive, compassionate, friendly and fun, this is me. Gathering information from you is a skill in itself, ensuring that the conversation is purposeful and meaningful to glean the essential facts, then the story itself can be created.

It is an honour to listen to your stories, to listen and guide you whether preparing for a family ceremony or a funeral. My job begins when I finish chatting with you. I process your information, I begin to create, the flair of turning spoken words into a ceremony is what I do best. Then the ceremony itself needs to be perfect. Practice, practice, practice. I read the ceremony aloud and time each section. I never over burden with accepting too many ceremonies. I want your ceremony to reflect exactly what you have in your mind's eye and in your heart.

On the day of the service, you need to feel relaxed and know that I have taken care of the detail.
