Funeral Celebrant in Surrey
Hi I’m Anna and I’m your Funeral Celebrant in Surrey . I am a very upbeat person and my proverbial glass is always full. Those who know me would say that I bring my sunny disposition to everything I do.
I have done all sorts of interesting jobs before finding my life calling as a celebrant.
After finishing my degree in English and Drama at Manchester university I moved to London to pursue a career as a television presenter. I was fortunate to work on many different programmes in a career that spanned more than a decade.
I’ve spent time working as a compere on cruise ships which was a wonderful way of seeing the world, experiencing new cultures and collecting stories and adventures along the way.
I am mother to 2 incredible little humans Fletcher and Raffi, wife to one rather lovely man (Barnaby) and earth mother to many, many house plants!
Being in nature makes me truly happy and I love nothing more than a big country walk with my family and friends.
After the birth of my second son I launched my own business as a Hypnobirthing teacher and Birth Doula, working with couples as they prepare to welcome a baby into the world.
I am an excellent hula hooper, have a cold shower every morning and have a soft spot for Martinis!
Being a celebrant is my perfect job and one I hope to still be doing well into my twilight years.
When someone we love dies the pain can be almost too much to bear. Perhaps you have a heavy sense of all that needs to be done but at the same time feel completely lost not knowing where to begin.
I will help you find a glimmer of hope in the darkest of times and together, we will create a beautiful ceremony that is a fitting tribute to the one you love.
Whilst being incredibly sad, a funeral can provide us with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate a life with joy and gratitude.
For me, saying farewell to those we love is one of the most important things we’ll ever have to do. When tasked with the honour of telling your loved ones story I will do so with warmth and integrity so that everyone leaves the ceremony better able to say goodbye.
We will meet either face to face or virtually and work together to craft a ceremony that is unique to you.
After our meeting you can be sure that you will feel listened to, cared for and in safe hands.
As a lover of poetry and literature I’m confident that I can suggest words and music that resonate with you.
I am happy to include readings and prayers if this is your wish or avoid religious content all together for a more secular ceremony.
On the day, I will be there to lead the ceremony, and can also support you with any readings or eulogies that friends and family wish to deliver. I would actively encourage you to speak if this is something you think you would like to do. But you can feel safe in the knowledge that I will always be there to step in if the emotion gets too much.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile. I’d be delighted to have a chat if you’d like to explore things further. I pride myself in making an excellent cup of tea.
Warmest wishes x
