Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in East Sussex

Hi I’m Anne Moynihan, your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in East Sussex. I enjoy long walks in the local forest, across the South Downs, or along the seafront, living as I do, very close to all three beautiful areas.

I live with a husband who loves this area even more than I do and between us, we have five sons, one daughter, two grandsons, two granddaughters and as a result, I have planned and been a part of hundreds of ceremonies over the years – weddings, christenings, naming ceremonies, funerals and even a divorce ceremony.

When the boys were little, I worked as a College Lecturer delivering health and childcare programmes to students aged from 14 – 60 and loved it all - creating lessons, researching resources and seeing those light bulb moments as students progressed through their course but, fate has taken me in a new, exciting direction.

A few years ago, I was asked to officiate at a friend’s wedding because the happy couple wanted someone they loved to be at the front with them. I gladly agreed then wrote and delivered the perfect wedding in the most beautiful Italian castle.

I was then hooked. It was such an amazing experience and I decided there and then that I wanted to create and deliver ceremonies for a living and get that huge sense of satisfaction that comes from the whole process of building the perfect ceremony.

This could be a simple wedding or naming ceremony or a grand, themed affair.

It might be a sadder occasion such as a funeral or memorial ceremony but being able to support people through some of the most challenging times of their lives and creating the perfect ceremony is both a privilege and a joy.

I trained with the UK Society of Celebrants because I wanted a strong foundation on which to build my Celebrancy business and ensure that I could offer my clients the very best service possible.

Having trained with the UK Society of Celebrants I have been able to really hone my craft and develop a range of tools to keep in my celebrant's toolbox. This means that I can ensure my clients have the very best service and can offload much of the stress involved onto my broad shoulders.

I will work with you to write a funeral ceremony or memorial service that truly reflects the life of your loved one and provides a sensitive, meaningful experience for those left behind in grief.

I can provide ideas for poems and readings and work from start to finish to ensure that the worry is taken from you and your loved one gets the send-off that they deserve with all the love and respect you have reflected in the ceremony. I will work with you to build the perfect wedding, the sweetest naming ceremony, graduation celebrations, family bonding celebrations, the most sensitive uncoupling ceremony, and a whole host of other family occasions that you would like to mark.

Working with you and your loved ones, I can ensure that your special day includes the individual touches to make your ceremony as unique as you are.

This could include unity candle lighting, handfasting, or memory boxes to name a few but whatever you choose, I will work with you to ensure a smooth and meaningful delivery I am mindful that this is your day and because I have used my training well, your event will be a very special and one which truly reflects who you are.
