Hello / Shwmae, I am Carolann Young and I am an Independent Family , Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Wales, serving the South Wales area.

I have had a varied career which involved two decades as a secondary school teacher, a therapist and schools based counselling lead, a trainer and a Senior Practitioner in Early Help and Family Support.As I approach the Autumn of my career, I want to choose to engage with the best bits of all the careers I have been lucky enough to follow. This led me to becoming a Celebrant. All of the above roles involved an element of Public Speaking.

From the age of 11 I enjoyed speaking in front of an audience and engaging with their verbal or non-verbal responses. Becoming a celebrant has allowed me to speak publicly to various audiences during both joyous and solemn occasions.

During family occasions I offer a bright and breezy presence and a wide smile. I can create an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness that will set the scene for memorable family event. However, I will never overshadow you as the centre of the occasion. My client and their loved ones will always be at the centre of the proceedings.I relish working with words as equally as I enjoy working with people. I have an ability to convey just the right emotion and complement the occasion and the guests. As a therapist, I am a skilled listener and I will make sure I truly understand what my clients need from the celebration. I will spend time with you in order to understand your wishes and get a sense of who you are. Imagery, powerful narrative and often humour will always be present.

I am only 5 feet and a fluff in my socks, but what I lack in height I make up for in presence. I will bring colour and warmth to your special occasion, if needed. Of course, as a professional who offers to officiate.
