Hello, I am Cheri your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Cheshire. I am proud to have qualified as a Family and Funeral Celebrant with UKSOC and I look forward to  helping people to create  Unique Ceremonies to celebrate  life’s most significant milestones.

As a Literature graduate, I have honed my skills in researching and exploring a variety of genres, allowing me to discover the perfect readings, poetry, and words that can truly capture the essence of life's most significant moments. I am passionate about researching and  writing biographies of lesser known authors. This has honed my skills in translating even a snippet of (what some see as insignificant)of information into the best telling of a story.  From weddings and civil partnerships to naming ceremonies, gender reveals, funerals and even pet memorials, I believe that every occasion deserves a ceremony that reflects the unique story and emotions surrounding it.

Ask anybody who knows me and they will tell you that I am never happier than when I am with my dog, up to my knees in mud and wandering across the hills of Wales. My first ever memory involved a dog, a removals van and a big adventure. I guess that explains why those three things have been the theme of my life.  I thrive on change and the challenge of  finding myself in new environments which I guess is reflected in my career.

Having spent over twenty five years working in the Civil Service in England I upped sticks and moved to Wales where I took up the challenge of working as part of a new team for the National Assembly for Wales dedicated to engaging the public in Democracy. From crisscrossing Wales in a Bus and meeting people at local fairs and Eisteddfods to giving talks to The Womens Institutes groups I could meet a huge array of native Welsh people both Welsh speakers and non-Welsh speakers alike.  I would like to say I mastered Welsh but I can honestly say that I just about get by when there.  Exciting events included organising and accompanying the Presiding Officer on a tour of Wales for her inauguration but nothing could top the private audience I was privileged to attend with HM The Queen, HRH Prince Philip, then, HRH Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. Moves to London to work for The Princes Trust followed by a move to Austria (and I did master German), where I managed my own small B&B focused on couples wishing to be married, followed before I returned to the UK and went to University where I am currently completing a degree in Irish Studies.

As a Celebrant I will work with you to create, and deliver, the most unique celebration of each and every life event using the perfect words, poetry, music and readings to bring your memories and stories to life – be that a Wedding, Funeral, Naming Ceremony or other important Life Event.

Being a Celebrant allows me to combine the years of  interviewing, presentation, organisational and supportive skills that I have gained throughout my career into one perfect role supporting people to bring their stories to life.

My approach to Celebrancy is rooted in empathy, creativity and a deep respect for different cultures, beliefs and traditions. I understand that each family is wonderfully unique, with their own stories and visions. By taking the time to listen to your desires and needs I will tailor every aspect of your ceremony to ensure that it authentically reflects your values and the journey of your or your loved one’s life.
