Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Somerset
Hi I’m Cheryl and I’m your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant the Somerset. I will put you and your family’s wishes at the heart of your special day.
I live with my husband, we have been together 29 years and married 27 years and tied the knot in St Lucia in 1996. Life has never been dull with 4 step daughters, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Our families have always been a big part of daily life. I have some amazing friends and I am a very social person, always arranging socials. The local pub is a great place to see friends especially doggy friends.
We have 2 beautiful West Highland terrier rescue dogs who are both 11 years old. Robbie was 2 and Annie was 4 years old when we had them. Both came from an amazing rescue centre in Wales called "Many Tears". My love of animals came at a very young age and one day I want to adopt a donkey. I support several animal charities.
I love music especially 70's disco dance and never say no to a bit of karaoke. Theatre is also a love of mine, particularly musicals. I enjoy gardening, the spring and summer flowers always fill me with happiness with the abundance of colours. I love wildflowers too.
I have worked in the health and social care sector for over 30 years and spent the last 10 years working in the community. I have had the privilege of meeting some amazing people whose stories have touched my heart time and time again. I am genuinely interested in people (nosey) and love to hear about people's lives and the stories they must tell especially the elderly. I am always touched to hear about challenging and difficult times some people have faced during their lives. I have gained much experience, knowledge, and skills over the years.
As a funeral celebrant I will work a long side you to create a unique, life centred ceremony, reflecting your loved one's personality to celebrate their life. I will arrange a time to meet with you and your family to discuss the kind of ceremony you would like, and I will support you all the way through. I will listen to your memories, anecdotes, and stories to build a picture of the life of the person who has died. I can help you choose readings, poems, prayers, and music to create a unique ceremony as every life is unique. It is a privilege to share the life of a loved one and create a ceremony to celebrate that life.
Wedding and family celebrations led by a celebrant enable you to have the ceremony you really want, the way you want it and how you want it. I will talk with you and share your ideas and dreams and will work closely with you to ensure that the ceremony is everything you want it to be, leaving you filled with happy memories, thoughts and wanting to do it all again. It is such an honour to be involved with special and important ceremonies.
