Wedding Celebrant in the City of London

I’m Sarah, a Family & Wedding Celebrant in the City of London based in the very heart of our beautiful capital. I work throughout London and the South East area but, also very happy travel for your perfect day. Being a celebrant has been a wonderful venture which has seemingly been hiding under my nose for some time.

As a guest, I’d racked up over to 100 weddings, civil services & naming ceremonies over the course of a decade. What I remembered wasn’t the location, cake or Bride’s dress, but times when the ceremony had us in tears of laughter or high emotion, singing & dancing or joining in.  This field research plus  presenting in my day job, dabbling in stand-up comedy & love of writing had me thinking I might be able to facilitate these kinds of memories for people, so, I decided to start working with couples & families to help curate their perfect days and I’ve not looked back.

The chance to raise a toast to love, welcome new life into the world, mark new beginnings and applaud the chapters we’re closing are – as they say – what it’s all about.

The fun of working with a celebrant is that you’re not bound by any legal or generic requirement and can make your special occasions a mix of who you are and what you want to represent.  If we’re truthful, we’ve all been to life events which though pleasant enough, may have a felt a little impersonal or bland.  Working with a civil celebrant is a great way to a avoid lacklustre affair and inject some personality, sentiment and hopefully lots of smiles into proceedings.

Occasions where your most cherished memories are made should truly reflect you and what makes you unique, but that can be a bit easier said than done. Creative flair and ideas are a good start but getting from daydreams to details can be a bit daunting.  As a problem solver who likes to fly in the face of convention, this is where I step in to help work out your perfect day.

I love listening & learning about people, blending customs and traditions, merging humour and heart.  Using these to help people have the day of their dreams is a pleasure and privilege. Let me work with you to produce a warm, fun and joyful occasion which I promise will be far from forgettable. If you love travel, or celebrate different cultures - even pop culture – then let’s bring these into your event.

Whether it’s a white wedding, recommitting vows or an intimate naming ceremony, I want to hear all of your ideas – no matter how big or small they may seem - and help make them a reality. After an initial conversation to make sure you’re happy with my approach, we’ll work together on the service including wording, elements and music to make sure every moment reflects who you are. On the day, you can leave that everything to me, as I’ll lead a ceremony with heart and humour which means you can relax and enjoy!
