Hello.  My name is Ros Taylor and I live in Eccleshall, Staffordshire with my husband, Roger, and our two friendly West Highland Terriers.  We have ten grandchildren, ranging from 3 to 18 years, and we try to see them and keep up with all their news as often as possible. I started my long and varied career with the Reading Evening Post and then trained to be a secondary school teacher, teaching economics, business studies and history to 14 to 18 year old pupils.  At around the same time I also became a Magistrate and served 22 years for the Berkshire Bench.  During part of this time as a Justice of the Peace I was Chairman of the Youth Panel and organised many events bringing together young people, Youth Offending Team Officers, prison staff and Youth Magistrates.

In the 1990’s I retrained to become a Homoeopath and allergy specialist and spent some 10 years helping people with various health problems. My hobbies have always included music and drama and I have been involved with many plays and musicals over the years in various capacities ie lead roles, chorus, directing and lighting control.  Roger and I visit local theatres regularly and, from time to time, go to London to see West End plays and shows.  I have recently started to learn Bridge, which I am finding challenging but enjoyable. Over my life I have met and dealt with many people of all ages and from all walks of life and have from time to time, had to deal with difficult situations both professionally and personally including several bereavements. Becoming and Independent Celebrant is very important to me as I feel that my life experiences have given me the opportunity to help others, with sensitivity and understanding, to plan the most personal and individual service possible for the deceased person and their family and friends, and to make this final ceremony as special and peaceful as possible.

This could be a totally secular service including such aspects as music, poetry, prose and readings and, if you wish, may include religious elements.  Whatever you choose I will give you my undivided and professional attention to ensure that you say goodbye to your loved one with love, dignity and to reflect the unique nature of their character. Please do get in touch with me if you wish to discuss any aspect of a service for your loved one and I will be more than happy to guide you in planning a truly special, personal and meaningful ceremony.
