Funeral Celebrant in Middlesex

My name is Adina I am a Funeral Celebrant based in Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex. My background is in dance, singing and theatre. After travelling the world for 5 years as a professional dancer I returned to Oxfordshire, to run the family dance school following my mother’s death. I continued to run the dance school for 16 years and taught classical ballet, modern dance and tap dancing to children from 3 years of age right through to adults. Running my own business developed my organisational skills and I became experienced in organising and directing shows involving up to 200 children between the ages of 3-18 years and other events such as presentation days, trade fair stands and examination days. In 2002 I decided to close my dance school to allow me to look for other challenges. I have worked front of house in many roles in hospitality and promotions and rekindled my life as a performer as a semi-professional singer. I moved to Sunbury on Thames in 2014, a decision I have never regreted, it still thrills me every time I drive over Hampton Court bridge. I love being so close to central London and all that it has to offer as well as being to access the beautiful Surrey countryside. I have always been interested in people and what makes them who they are. Their stories, the journeys of their lives, the surprising events, connections and the choices they have made that are not always obvious to the onlooker. I love discovering what is under the surface of an individual’s story.

Several years ago, a Humanist celebrant handed me their business card at a gig. This piqued my interest and the idea of becoming a celebrant interested me. With religion becoming less important in many peoples’ lives I can see the need for non-secular celebrants to provide fitting ceremonies for life’s major events. Recently I was looking for a new challenge that would utilise my existing strengths and skills as well as develop others that have been left untapped. I realised that becoming a funeral celebrant would enable me to provide a much-needed service as well as being a very rewarding role. I believe that a funeral ceremony should be a reflection of the person who has died and a celebration of the life they have lived. My role as your celebrant is to provide an individual and meaningful tribute with appropriate poetry, readings and music that you can provide or we can select together, along with other personal touches that you request. The ceremony that I prepare will always be a very special personal tribute delivered with professionalism and care. It will be an honour to visit you to chat to you and learn about the life of your loved one and put together a ceremony that communicates their life story and who they were. On the day I will be there to provide you with support and ensure that the ceremony that you want is delivered seamlessly.
