My name is Gillian Goupillot, your Family, Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Hamilton, Scotland. I am based in South Lanarkshire and am more than happy to travel far and wide to conduct your bespoke ceremony.

I am a vegan, proud member of the LGBTQ community, a lover of any and every true-crime documentary and podcast. SSDGM.

I grew up in Stranraer a small town on the southwest coast of Scotland, this left me spoiled for views and fresh seaside air, I could never tire of the west coast.

I moved to Edinburgh for University where I studied Theatre and Performance, this course gave me a confident passion for language and writing and a wealth of skills in public speaking.

To support me through my studies I worked as a chef mainly in Edinburgh's vegan restaurants and bars.
Exploring my love of food allowed me to live a life filled with my two loves, eating and writing.

I loved the city for many reasons, getting to meet so many creative people, the number of shows you could see and the street performers were a far cry from my seaside hometown.

People and their stories have always fascinated me, I think that our stories tell the world of our truth and experiences, everyone should feel represented and have a voice even when they can't speak anymore.

Putting those around me at ease is one of my best qualities. I want you to feel comfortable and on the same level as me, so you can always tell me honestly what you need and want.

always feel represented and heard.

I offer a unique ceremony package built on your stories of your loved one or as you as a couple, each individual is different as each ceremony should be.

When done correctly you can look back on the day with a smile and memories that last a lifetime.

I will ease you through the process from start to finish, we can start by feeling out what your expectations and wishes are for the ceremony and from there we have a clear starting point.

I offer many different services which can be made for you, for example, as well as writing the ceremony that will comprise your stories and truth I can write poems and readings made just for your occasion.

I can provide many different elements for your wedding day, many of these are steeped in tradition but can be refreshing in the way it includes your guests and make your ceremony an immersive experience.

Some of these elements include handfasting which is an old way of tieing your hands together in cords made by you in colours that represent you and your family.

I also offer unique elements that really push your personality, letting those you have asked to share in your special day learn more about you both as a couple.

Funerals can be incredibly challenging, just the thought of having to organise a ceremony can be daunting when battling fresh grief.

I have experienced this first hand so I understand the importance of finding someone you can trust to really honour your lost loved one, making sure they are respected in a way that you have known and loved them.

A funeral should be a way for you to have some closure, maybe even learn something new about them and have their truth told. It's incredibly important you leave with a feeling that your loved one was truly represented.
