Funeral Celebrant covering Bucks, Beds and Herts
My husband and I have a “blended” family with, between us, three adult children, their partners, first grandchildren and other close family members that we are lucky to call friends as well as relations. We love to go to live music gigs (mainly 70s rock and tribute bands these days) and enjoy spending time eating and drinking with friends.
For holidays we’ve travelled extensively throughout Great Britain and Europe by road, rail and boat as we don’t fly. The journey is part of the holiday from the moment we step out the front door. We have a grand plan to travel around the world without using a plane which has some planning challenges!
We share the home we are currently renovating with two aged dogs called Reggie and Percy. It’s not only the house that needs work! My love of plants and gardening will be tested as the garden hasn’t been tended for many years and I’m currently doing on-line studies with the Royal Horticultural Society to help plan the rejuvenation.
I stepped away from a background of over thirty years in the sterile world of Cyber Security Sales in November 2021 to be available to help my elderly parents. My career gave me the opportunity to work with huge multinational companies, running teams, public speaking, sales and marketing. Having worked from home for many years the Pandemic Lockdown wasn’t really a change of how to work. What it did for me was to make me realise what is important. That is why I’m so pleased to have now trained with the UK Society of Celebrants specialising as a Funeral Celebrant.
Facing a funeral ceremony can be daunting with everything else you are going through. Whether you would like a traditional ceremony, some religious content and poems or a more contemporary ceremony with rock music, colour and singing is completely up to you.
Together we can share memories and families stories that you would like included in the ceremony. Maybe you'd like to include any likes or dislikes that your loved one was known for. Were they a music or theatre fan, did they love gardening or reading, or did they have other hobbies. We can talk through any music, readings or poems. Maybe members of the family might like to be involved.
My approach to funeral ceremonies is informal and relaxed. It’s such an emotional time but together we can bring out those memories and details that will make for a fitting ceremony.
