I am a Family, Funeral and Wedding celebrant in Cambridgeshire, also working in Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire. I’m also the “Town Crier” for Cambridge and support civic events as either “Sergeant at Mace” or “Master of Ceremonies”.

Throughout a long career in retail, leading, developing, and motivating teams to smile and enjoy delivering excellent service, I gained a huge range of life skills and knowledge that enabled me to support my teams with a level of compassion and empathy that built loyalty.

Those same skills have since early 2022 been utilised delivering marriage and citizenship ceremonies across Cambridgeshire for the local authority, in Register Offices and approved venues, both indoors and outside.

Having seen the difference that the “freedom” of celebrancy allows in creating bespoke, personal and original ceremonies, I completed a Diploma in Family and Funeral Celebrancy with the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants before embarking on a journey that seeks to deliver smiles and reflections of satisfaction.

It’s not just about delivering a confident, professional and personal ceremony on the day; it’s about getting to know my clients and their families at some of the most highly charged moments of their lives.

My main work encompasses both funerals and weddings, as well as naming ceremonies and memorials. Whichever ceremony you are looking to me to lead, we will always meet and chat, for as long as it takes, until we are both sure I have everything I need. I will deal with everything you tell me with sensitivity and compassion and will ensure that we are both happy and secure about how the day will go.

Listening well, understanding, and turning the stories you bring to me into a well-structured, sensitive, and entertaining ceremony is a part of the job that I relish.

Funerals require excellent listening skills from me to create a script that will truly celebrate and honour the person we are saying goodbye to. This can sometimes be painful, but can also be joyful, and it is important that my ceremony reflects both the happiness and laughter contained in your memories, as well as the sorrow of loss.

Weddings come in all shapes and sizes; special locations; special elements and of course special people. Together we will explore all the options for your special day, draft the plan, develop it as required and practice beforehand.

I regularly “speak” at gatherings or on radio shows, talking all things Registrar and Celebrant, sharing tender moments and the odd humorous tale along the way.
