Hello, I’m Marion, and I live in the Peak District on the Staffordshire / Derbyshire border.

As a Registered Nurse, I worked in different hospitals across the UK, in the community and also as a Practice Nurse in a GP surgery in Derbyshire.
Whilst working as a District Nursing Sister in Lincolnshire, I was assigned student nurses on placement, and it was this experience that influenced me to do further training to become a Clinical Nurse Teacher, a role I thoroughly enjoyed.

My personal and professional development continued at De Montfort University where I gained a Masters degree (MA) in Health & Community Development, which opened up new avenues to explore. This included working for a Local Authority, linking with NHS health information projects, and also within the Voluntary Sector as the designated health lead for community health projects.

For several years I volunteered as a Community First Responder, providing on call emergency medical care within a rural area, which also included co-ordinating a team of responders and liaising with the county ambulance service management team.

Living in a rural community means that sometimes ‘needs must’, and often opportunities (or challenges!) present themselves in unexpected ways. In recent times, I was ‘volunteered’ to prepare and lead occasional services in the village church, because there was no vicar. It was most definitely a steep learning curve and I have discovered a lot through doing this.

It was this experience that enabled me to develop my own creative style, rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach, and ultimately it was this that finally prompted me to train as a Family & Funeral Celebrant with the UK Society of Celebrants.

During my working life, I have been privileged to be with families at the best and worst times of their lives, offering care and support during significant life changing events.

As a Family and Funeral Celebrant, I can help to provide you with the care, support and guidance you are looking for at this particular moment in your own life story, be that happy or sad.
I can help you joyously celebrate a new beginning, or honour and remember a loved one who has passed away, ensuring that, whatever the occasion, it is personal, dignified and meaningful for you and your family.

I offer a bespoke script writing for Wedding Ceremonies, Civil Partnership Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows and Funeral Ceremonies including Memorial and Thanksgiving Ceremonies.

As well as a bespoke service, I can also offer a traditional ceremony, which includes prayers and scripture readings if required.

My service includes sourcing appropriate poems, quotes, readings and music that capture a significant moment in time.

I will work with you, supporting and guiding you so that a truly personal and memorable service is created.
