Hi. My name is Natalie and I am your Funeral Celebrant in the South Manchester, Trafford, Warrington and closely surrounding areas.

I came to funeral celebrancy after many years in the world of recruitment, having had my own business for a number of years and having worked with some great people with inspiring lives. The best part of recruitment was working with people and securing them the potential for new lives. Listening and connecting with people is a major part of my life, as is building relationships now and into the future.

I decided to take the experience I had and to move into celebrancy, where I can use my empathy and connection with people to help them during difficult times. I am a calming influence who can share stories, both sad and happy or funny, with kindness and care. I can relate to people of all ages and backgrounds and have always enjoyed meeting new people.

I came to the funeral industry a number of years ago linked to my community, and my husband is a part time funeral operative, but rest assured we are happy people!

In my own time, I have a husband who I met at University 30 years ago and two lovely grown up daughters. A houseful of dogs and guinea pigs too. I love to read and bake and to spend time with my extended family. Lovely long walks in the countryside and on the beach seem to calm me, but don't be fooled as I also love a good speedboat ride.

I am avid binge watcher too! I am very involved in my community and have lived in South Manchester most of my life.

Death whilst immensely sad, is humbling and makes us stop and think about who we are, what we want to be and how we would want to be remembered. Some people even choose to plan their own funeral ahead of time as it gives them comfort.

The most important thing is that people feel genuinely cared for. Saying goodbye to your loved one should be exactly how they, or you, would want it to be: religious, non-religious, funny, musical, colourful…anything goes. Traditional style funerals are also still common and these can be tailored for you. I can do burials, cremations, ashes interment and memorial services.

I can work with you to find readings and poems that really convey the life of your loved one or have significant meaning for you. Having given Eulogies at family funerals too, I understand the importance of really conveying someone’s life and who were they as people. Listening to you tell me the story of your loved one’s life and what they enjoyed, or didn’t enjoy, will help me build a picture for those people who maybe didn’t know their full life story or the things they liked to do or were passionate about.

It’s truly an honour to be able to tell someone’s life story – to impart their words of wisdom or their musical taste and favourite readings. To convey who they were as a person and how they impacted on the lives of those around them. I learn something new every time I speak with people and this is something that has enabled me to grow too as a person, wife, mother and beyond.

I am culturally aware of most faiths and happy to do religious ceremonies, particularly where you may want a Psalm, or hymn or some prayers. I also have an understanding of Jewish funerals.
