Pauline Louise | Funeral Celebrant

I’m Pauline Louise, and I’m your Civil Funeral Celebrant, serving the London Borough of Newham, in East London.

Prior to celebrancy, I worked as a secondary school teacher for over a decade, and then moved on to various roles within the Civil Service.

My hobbies include family-history research and reading science-fiction novels (especially anything by Peter F Hamilton). I also love long walks in the park, and stroking other people’s dogs!

After losing many close family members, and coming close to death myself in 2010, I wanted to put my experiences and my resilience to good use. I felt compelled to use my empathy, connection and communication, to help bereaved people during their darkest time.

Saying farewell to those we love is one of the most important things we’ll ever do. If you give me the honour of telling your loved one’s story, I will do so with warmth and integrity. Together, we will create a beautiful ceremony …. a fitting tribute to your loved one.

We will meet either face to face or virtually (whichever you prefer), and work together to craft a ceremony that is unique to you. After our meeting, you will feel listened to, cared for and in safe hands.

On the day of the funeral, I will be there to lead the ceremony, and support you with any readings or eulogies that friends and family wish to deliver.
