Wedding and Funeral Celebrant in Berkshire
I’m Sarah Evans, a celebrant specialising in creating personalised and bespoke ceremonies for life’s events. I am a fully trained wedding, family and funeral celebrant, and enjoy leading weddings, commitment ceremonies, renewal of vows, naming ceremonies, anniversaries, celebrations of life and funerals, in fact any of life’s big events!
I love to work with families to unpick exactly what they would want from a ceremony, to hear their stories, their anecdotes and tales, and it gives me no greater pleasure than to carefully craft these into a bespoke, individual ceremony where these can be told.
I love working to understand the type and essence of the ceremony required, getting under its skin, and to work together to create something very special which will represent my client and their loved ones.
Expressing your love and emotion, whether this be at a wedding or commitment ceremony, or when you remember and mourn someone's passing, is a natural and special part of any ceremony. It is at the heart of all relationships, and a celebrant can help express this within the ceremony in so many ways; through words, actions, specially included elements, poetry and readings and many more. These are the personal touches and the individual approach which makes a celebrant-led ceremony so special.
A member of UKSOC, I work across south and southeast England including Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, South West London, Sussex. Hertfordshire and further afield if required – I do love to travel!
In fact, the joy of a celebrant-led event is that it can be held anywhere! So, if a woodland, coastal, hilltop, favourite garden, beach is your thing, then let's do it! Equally, more traditional venues can also be your location for wedding or family events or a celebration of life.
Times are changing and so are the needs for different types of ceremonies. For instance, events to mark a celebration of life are increasing in popularity, rather than a more traditional funeral or cremation. Equally, couples are increasingly wanting a more individualised approach to their own weddings or ceremonies of commitment. Just two of the ways in which I can support you in planning the event that matches your own circumstances and needs.
My career in education, particularly as a Headteacher, enabled me to not only lead with a sense of purpose and vision, but was one based in compassion and empathy, working closely with families and children, often through tricky times and life events, and being sensitive to the impact that this can have. Presenting to varied audiences, creating compelling and powerful story telling with a compassionate, sensitive and empathetic style is something I can do confidently and clearly.
But above all, choosing a celebrant for your special day is about finding a voice for your most cherished moments, a guide through your most significant transitions which will offer a seamless and memorable event.
In me, you will find not only a professional with an exemplary background in caring for and understanding people but also a passionate advocate for love, understanding in all its forms and a desire to bring your story to life.
I can therefore bring experience and gravitas to any ceremony, being a compassionate and clear public speaker, I am sensitive to the needs of an audience and the demands of a ceremony and get such joy from the privilege of doing so!
Ceremonies can be the happiest of occasions and creating an atmosphere of warmth and togetherness, with a confident smile and welcoming presence, will ensure a memorable and personal event. I love carefully crafting the words, along with including additional well-chosen elements, that will so clearly represent who you are and what you want to say.
