Pagan Family and Funeral Celebrant. Blessings, my name is Shirlee Moon and I am a unique person and an alternative family and funeral celebrant based in Eltham, SE London. With many years’ experience of creating and leading Pagan weddings, handfasting, naming and funeral ceremonies as a Pagan, a witch, a sage woman and a High Priestess of the old ways, I decided to train to be a celebrant to offer weddings, family ceremonies, naming and celebrant led funerals to all who seek them, both Pagans and non-Pagans.

Pagan and Non-Pagan Wedding Ceremonies

I have the compassion and understanding to deal with the many and varied things in life together with a positive energy whatever the situation. Many people through personal experience want to include Pagan customs within their ceremonies, and the increased popularity of handfasting ceremonies is evidence of this. Originally a Pagan wedding custom, handfasting ceremonies are available to all people with many or without any religious or spiritual beliefs.

Milestone Ceremonies for Everyone

Weddings are the most important ceremony a couple can have to mark their journey as two people in love. A wedding is a milestone ceremony and a joyous occasion, usually attended and celebrated by the friends and family present. I can suggest many different and tailormade ceremonial aspects known as unity ceremonies to help you include these important people within your ceremony if you require this.

With many years’ experience of helping couples and families have personalised ceremonies, I can also help if required with the writing and creation of your wedding vows. We can work on these together if you need any help or inspiration in thinking of the most meaningful and important words you will say to each other during your ceremony.

Choose Your Venue or Location

Gone are the days of expected conformity for weddings, and no longer do you have to hold a wedding ceremony in a certain place. You can have a magical and memorable ceremony on a beach, surrounded by trees in a woodland, or in a favoured outdoor or indoor place. I do travel if required to any venues. From on the seacoast to within a castle, the choice of venue and location are yours.

Naming Ceremonies

Naming ceremonies aren’t just for babies, they are for anyone who wants to celebrate an announcement of a name. Whether it is to welcome a new baby with a more traditional naming ceremony involving chosen Life Mentors or Guide Parents, or it is Pagan magical name giving ceremony. I can create a specialised and extraordinary naming ceremony for babies, children and adults inclusively.

Funeral Ceremonies

When a loved one leaves this world, I can help with a celebration of life ceremony enabling the family and friends to say goodbye in their own way. None of us are the same, and each family member grieves differently over the death of a loved one. With this in mind, my job as a celebrant is to create a tailormade ceremony which includes many aspects and experiences of the person who has died. This helps those left behind grieve in their own way while remembering the good times and experiences they shared with the person.

Specialised Pagan Ceremony Services

For those who seek a traditional Pagan wedding, handfasting, naming or funeral ceremony, I offer a range of additional services aimed at the Pagan community or those who seek them. Coming from a longline of Romany gypsies, I can offer couples pre ceremony tarot readings as is sought after by many Pagan couples. I am experienced in wedding and funeral rituals, and these can be included to any traditional Pagan ceremonies upon request.
