My name is Simon and I am your Wedding celebrant in Penarth. I was born and bred in Cardiff, and alongside a huge passion for all sports, I enjoy reading, listening to podcast and watching documentaries. I find learning fascinating.

I am fortunate enough to have been asked by friends and family to be a Best Man, Master of Ceremonies, Groomsmen and Celebrant on multiple occasions. Nothing makes prouder than being trusted by those closest to you.

In May 2021 I was diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety. In a weird way, although horribly tough at times, it’s been the best thing to ever happen to me. I was able to stop, reassess my habits and reprioritise things in my life.

After working for National Governing Bodies in Sport for 12 years, it was time to step out of my comfort zone and develop something that I am passionate about.

I set up Speakeasy Club in January 2022 and I’m excited to launch my Speakeasy Celebrant service from May 2022!

Our 4 core values are Authenticity, Empathy, fun and inquisitiveness.

This is exactly what you can expect from a ceremony we create together. Nothing is off the table, and I encourage you to be creative with your day.

The goal for me with Speakeasy Club is to create a culture where learning and being inquisitive is cool. It’s the norm. I’m a massive advocate of championing ourselves and each other, and I will ensure there are those opportunities for you to do likewise throughout your ceremony.

 

As a Celebrant, I want to help everyone to feel their special, and heard. It’s vitally important any ceremony that you are at the centre of the day, and the environment we create makes you feel comfortable, special, and loved.

Everybody has a story, however sometimes we find it hard to tell it! When we discuss your dreams for the day, it’s my role to ensure we pull all the details together that you want and weave them into a bespoke ceremony.

Nothing is ‘’too silly’’ or ‘’not important enough’’. If it means something to you then it absolutely has its place on the day. It is all about you. Together, we will create a truly bespoke ceremony, that compliments you as individuals and leaves a lasting memory of a truly magical day.

Whether you are looking for a Wedding / Commitment/ Vow Renewal Ceremony, or whether you are welcoming a child into your family and wish to celebrate with a Naming ceremony. We can do that and more.

I say 'we', because whilst I will write and conduct your ceremony, it is all about you.

There is always a way to make the ceremony you really want, happen. Whenever a challenge is put in front of us, I love the saying ‘’it won’t beat us’’, and I stand by that.
