Hello, I'm Marianne
Having studied, taught, interpreted and translated languages in a wide variety of contexts working with people of all ages and walks of life over the past twenty years, my communication skills are well honed.
Friends describe me as warm, compassionate and good at making others feel at ease. I am also a storyteller from the oral tradition performing ancient tales from around the world for adults and children at events around the South West. I enjoy learning from the myths and incorporating ritual into a telling.
As such, I would describe myself as 'spiritual but not religious'. I consider nature to be my altar and place of worship. I believe that the allegories and myths handed down by our ancestors convey valuable messages about how to live well in the 21st century. I believe that marking life events with a ceremony created with sensitivity, compassion and joy can support human well-being and help us to feel connected to our communities.
I consider that a good ceremony begins with good listening skills. I will listen to your story with care and respect in order to create a bespoke ceremony which feels intimate and connected.
